To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in higher education setting preferred.
  • Advanced communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, students, and all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical skills to review and analyze complex information.
  • Strong understanding of program and event strategy, execution, and measurement.
  • Strong leadership and strategic management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing people.
 

In addition, our preferred requirements include:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field is desirable.
  • Experience in career coaching, community development, program planning and execution, group facilitation and/or engagement, and employer relations and/or university recruiting.
  • Entrepreneurial, creative, and innovative spirit; comfortable with change, ambiguity, and risk.
  • Sense of humor and enthusiasm for working with freshmen and sophomores.
  • Multicultural awareness and competence; ability to work in a diverse environment and serve constituents from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with topics including diversity and inclusion, well-being and mental health, and community/belonging as they relate to career education.
  • Experience with online career platforms and digital communication.
  • Proven record in leading and developing cohesive teams, managing performance and productivity, strategic planning, and contributing to organizational leadership.
  • Knowledge of trends in career education, internships, world of work, economy, and technology.
  • Knowledge of employment print and web resources and publications, and career interest/personality assessments (MBTI, CliftonStrengths, and Strong Interest Inventory).
