The Office of Undergraduate Admission assembles a freshman class of 1,700 students and a transfer class of approximately 25-40 students each year. We strive to build a class that cuts across a number of dimensions to add to a rich and diverse undergraduate educational experience for everyone. We believe that a student body that is both highly qualified and diverse in terms of culture, socioeconomic status, background, work and life experiences, skills and interests Is essential to the educational process and will provide additional contributions and dimensions to the Stanford community.

  

The Office of Undergraduate Admission seeks an Assistant Dean of Admission for Alumni Volunteer Relations to perform team leadership role for new and current alumni relations programs and projects, develop strategies for and across alumni relations, conduct program evaluation and marketing analysis, link strategies to business and departmental objectives, and manage, administer, implement and interpret university and/or department admission policies and procedures.

  

Your responsibilities include: 

  • Managing and mentoring a staff of five, developing and coordinating training programs.
  • Managing alumni leadership around the world through relationship building and support
  • Developing and implementing a strategic plan for the continued domestic and global expansion of the alumni volunteer program.
  • Actively developing and maintaining relationships with important alumni contacts both on and off campus and colleagues in alumni admission.
  • Coordinating with Admission Office’s Dean and Director on highly sensitive topics regarding alumni engagement and the admission process.
  • Serving as a liaison with admission leadership and university legal counsel in the creation and distribution of alumni training tools and programs.
  • Assuring excellence in program marketing and technology.
  • Providing a robust program to maintain current volunteers.
  • Evaluating, assessing and making program enhancements based on volunteer and student experience.
  • Recruiting, training, supporting, directing, cultivating and challenging volunteer leaders to achieve success.
  • Coordinating with and supporting activities of the alumni association with a special focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Reading, evaluating, recommending and advocating for higher level undergraduate applications to the Admission Committee to consider for admission based on current university priorities.
  • Chairing admission committees; making higher level management, evaluative and programmatic decisions.
  • Developing, managing, evaluating and implementing multi-dimensional admission outreach and recruitment strategies to enroll the most academically talented students, make recommendations for future program improvements.
  • Developing and maintaining external community and University liaisons related to admission programs and services.
  • Evaluating departmental policies and procedures and make recommendations to senior management team.
  • Overseeing the collection of enrollment data, developing reports and analyses, managing team’s program budget.
  • Evaluating needs and managing the implementation and development of technology.
  • Participating in the development of long-term strategic planning on the implementation of annual long-range planning efforts, development of business practices, and organizational change that improve processes and workflow.
  • Serving as a key member of the management team; representing the department/unit on University wide teams and projects.
  • Taking leadership role at regional and national committees/conferences.

In addition, preferred requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

  

The expected pay range for this position is $115,000 to $142,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
