Minimum Education and Experience Required:
-
- Technical degree and three years’ experience in voice, data service, cable television, card system and/or special circuit system areas or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Extensive experience in the installation and maintenance of voice and data systems, with at least three years of experience in communication project planning and execution preferred.
Qualifications:
-
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital transmission techniques and interconnect methods, with the ability to train others.
- Proven ability to operate and diagnose technical test equipment and provide resolutions or recommendations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and exercise good judgment in organizing work and solving routine problems.
- Ability to design and terminate cable schematics for communication links using various media, including copper, coax, and fiber.
- Commitment to complying with all applicable environmental, safety, and health regulations.
- Current and valid driver's license required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class C Driver’s license and drive day or night.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 70 lbs.

The expected pay range for this position is $51.67 (Step 11) to $62.58 (Step 20) per hour. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.

- May work at heights or in confined spaces. Available for 24X7 on-call response within 30 minutes of notification
