DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High-Priority Desired Qualifications

  • Background and experience in LGBTQ+ health, LGBTQ+ health care, and/or LGBTQ+ health research.
  • Advanced knowledge of administrative, program management, strategic planning, human resources. 
  • Able to establish goals, set programmatic priorities, and support team members in achieving those goals independently.
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial work style, including solution-oriented approach to complex issues. 
  • At least [4] years of experience in community organizing, coalition building, or campaign leadership.

 

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced skills in personnel management and coaching, experience with managing remote teams who are geographically distributed is a plus. 
  • Proven ability to build and lead effective community coalitions.
  • Advanced ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Extensive leadership, organizing and/or advocacy experience in LGBTQ+ communities.
  • Experience with large-scale and complex programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial principles and practices and development and execution of programmatic budgeting is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly process and strategically respond to new information, concepts, and practices.
  • An advocate with clear commitment to PRIDEnet’s priorities with knowledge of related LGBTQ+ community and issues.
  • An energetic strategist who is adept at planning, prioritizing, organizing, and following through.
  • An experienced leader who understands the subtleties of engaging and motivating staff and community stakeholders in order to build successful coalitions across diverse cultural and political contexts.
  • A direct and compassionate communicator comfortable with complex cultural settings; one who shares information readily and listens well.
  • Maintains a healthy sense of humor.
  • Experience with the following are notable assets: LGBTQ+-dedicated community organizing and/or coalition building, organizing with black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities and/or coalition building, LGBTQ+ health, LGBTQ+ research, LGBTQ+ health or market research, LGBTQ+ marketing, and budget management.
  • At least [4] years of management experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in strategic planning, project development and management, and team leadership.
  • At least [3] years of leadership experience working as, or closely with, the chief executive officer or executive director.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree and three or more years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization. 
  • Ability to oversee and direct staff.
  • Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.
  • Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.
  • On-campus mobility.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May work extended hours, evenings or weekends.
  • May travel locally. 
  • Occasional overnight travel.
