MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
1) Advanced degree in information science, library science, engineering, or a related discipline. College-level coursework or relevant work experience in an engineering discipline or related field preferred.
2) Three or more years of experience in an academic library, or similar expertise dealing with information mediation.
3) Work experience with collection development, including budget management, collection evaluation. Strong experience with digital library materials. (Desired: experience with negotiating contracts for digital books or journals.)
4) Demonstrated work experience in areas such as OpenURL knowledgebase management, metadata cross-walking, or digital serials control, or other relevant experience that demonstrate a knowledge of and ability to work with metadata and digital materials.
5) Demonstrated work experience with institutional repositories (IRs), digitization and access projects, or data management/curation.
6) Experience with markup and/or programming languages (e.g., SML, SGML, XML, SQL, PERL, Python, Ruby, R, etc.) is highly desired.
7) Demonstrated record of innovation in developing, implementing or promoting digital information systems or services.
8) Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to work effectively with users and colleagues .
9) Demonstrated ability to integrate digital collections into library services.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
• Constantly sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.
• Frequently twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasps lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
• Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, writing by hand, kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other).
• Rarely use a telephone, operate hand controls.
• Must be able to push and maneuver a fully-loaded cart weighing up to 650 pounds that requires an initial push force up to 50 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• May work in confined spaces and at heights 4-10 feet; be exposed to dust and mold; work extended hours, evenings and weekends.
