MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Must have a broad-based scientific and technology background to be able to effectively guide the activities provided by the shared facilities. Hands-on technical and management experience in shared facilities is strongly desired. Advanced degree is desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience leading, managing, motivating, and developing technical staff.
- Experience developing solutions and making sound decisions involving long-range, strategic, and highly visible projects that span disciplines or functions.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, methodologies, and resource management principles.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with others.
- Demonstrated communication skills to persuade, influence, and lead others, including the exchange of complex technical information to gain cooperation, problem resolution, and funding/project approval.
- Exceptional customer relationship and consensus building skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships in a diverse environment.
- Excellent skills in planning and proactive management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, seated work, use a telephone and use light/ fine grasping.
- Occasionally write by hand, lift, carry, push pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Rarely stand, walk, sort, and file paperwork or parts.
