Responsibilities of the Director of Philanthropy Education and Research
Your responsibilities would include:
- Identifying, recommending, and implementing opportunities for research and conducting research activities
- Teaching and assisting in the teaching and administration of courses, including developing curricula and methods for getting feedback on their effectiveness
- Writing and editing grant proposals, books, papers, and articles aimed at publication in peer-reviewed journals and elsewhere
- Contributing to EPLI’s and PACS’ strategic planning
- Leading and mentoring program staff
- Managing EPLI’s budget
- Diversifying EPLI’s funding sources through both grants and further development and market testing of EPLI’s custom education and workshop programs
- Engaging in communications, fundraising, and partnerships on behalf of EPLI and PACS
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- A deep knowledge of the nonprofit sector and philanthropy
- Excellent strategic skills
- Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization
- Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources
- Ability to oversee and direct staff
- Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans
- An entrepreneurial mindset and experience with program development through a full lifecycle (brainstorming, prototyping, testing, marketing, outreach/partnerships, measurement, evaluation, and sustainability)
In addition, preferred requirements include:
- At least 5 years of experience in the Philanthropy sector
- Ability to develop and teach courses
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including scholars, industry leaders, students and staff
- Experience in a professional academic setting
- Supervisory experience.
