MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
● Advanced Degree in Library Science or a relevant academic discipline with demonstrated understanding of academic libraries and two or more years of relevant experience in a relevant library setting or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Demonstrated understanding of data-intensive research processes in academic context.
● Demonstrated experience managing, analyzing, and otherwise working with research datasets using analytic tools and/or statistical software packages.
● Demonstrated knowledge of issues and technical challenges related to data curation, including format migration, preservation, metadata, discovery, provenance, and data access.
● Familiarity with computational methods relevant for data curation, such as text & data mining, data science techniques, data-driven research, or related skills.
● Ability and experience in the areas of instruction, training, workshops, best practices
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with researchers and support staff across campus units.
- Familiarity with concepts in data visualization or data mining
- Demonstrated familiarity with relevant standards for research metadata (e.g., EML, ISO19115, DarwinCore, Schema.org, etc.) and data management practices and requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of FAIR guidelines and issues around Open Access.
Physical Requirements:
· Constantly sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.
· Frequently twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasps lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
· Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, writing by hand, kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other).
· Rarely use a telephone, operate hand controls.
· Must be able to push and maneuver a fully-loaded cart weighing up to 650 pounds that requires an initial push force up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:

The expected pay range for this position is $83,000 to $106,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
This is an on-campus position, with the expectation of providing services both in person and to remote patrons.
