To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant work experience, or combination of education and relevant experience including :
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and training, especially for students in higher education.
- Deep understanding of career education related concepts and core practices, such as career assessment practices, major and career exploration, decision making, searching for opportunities, networking, developing resumes and cover letters, economic trends, and building meaning and purpose into career exploration.
- Familiarity with career assessments such as the MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory 244 and CliftonStrengths.
- Advanced communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and all levels of management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to review and analyze complex information.
- Demonstrated ability to provide career education that includes a diversity of identities and perspectives, that opens access to a range of opportunities, and that empowers students to integrate meaning and purpose while developing their career paths.
- Organizational abilities—able to keep track and report on multiple projects, integrate department and division priorities, and improve programming and services for Frosh/Soph students.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of campus partners and external partners including parents, alumni, and employers.
- Creativity, curiosity, and the ability and willingness to practice design thinking principles (e.g., ideating and prototyping) to advance student development, to strengthen programs and services for students, and to advance commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion in coaching, programming, and services.
- Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant computer systems/technology experience, including social media, and digital communications, Handshake or similar digital career engagement platforms.
- Understanding of financial transactions.
- Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and regulations.
In addition, our preferred qualifications include:
- Master’s degree in Career Counseling, Education, Student Affairs, or related field
- Creative and innovative spirit; comfort with change, ambiguity, and risk
- Sense of humor and enthusiasm for working with freshmen and sophomores
- Demonstrated passion and aptitude for coaching, cultivating connections, program development and execution, group facilitation and engagement
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply diversity-related concepts (including equity, inclusion, access, underrepresented and marginalized communities, allyship, power and privilege, social justice and identity development).

Working Conditions:
- Able to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Able to work on campus at least three days per week.
The expected pay range for this position is $87,000 to $100,000 per annum.
