● Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and relevant experience
● Three years of relevant experience strongly preferred.
● Interest in and academic background in sustainability and zero waste field
● Demonstrated curiosity and the ability to bring projects to fruition.
● Experience working in an environmental, social justice, and/or academic setting.
● A balanced sense of environmental stewardship and an awareness of the importance and value of equity, inclusion, and diversity in higher education and broader society
● Inquisitive attitude, self-motivation, and self-driven approach with high degree of energy and initiative, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
● Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and groups across campus.
● Community engagement experience
● Adept analytical skills to evaluate these efforts and understand emerging technologies that can help advance campus programs and engage the campus community to help us achieve the University’s goal of Zero Waste by 2030
● Able to plan and execute projects on a timeline.
● Highly organized; able to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
● Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva
● Proven success in social media distribution and conducting data analytics.
● Meticulous attention to detail and proofreading skills
● Strong writing and graphic experience
● Demonstrated multimedia experience.
● Strong MS Office suite/Google Drive skills
● Good instincts for design and understand how to analyze and report on data.
● Availability to assume participation in local evening and planned weekend events on campus several times a year.
● Experience overseeing or supervising students is preferred.
● Solid knowledge of the current media/social media landscape, including web and video development, is preferred.
● Zero Waste certifications such as CRRA/SWANA or TRUE, a plus
● Familiarity with higher education organizational and operational structures, ability to objectively think through impact of initiatives in an institutional setting, a plus.
● Video design experience is a plus.
● Skilled in HTML/CSS and Drupal is a plus.
● Experience with Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro, a plus

Physical Requirements*:
● Frequently sitting, performing desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
● Occasionally stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 11-20 pounds.
● Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, write by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
● May occasionally work on weekends and evenings.
● Work involves long hours of standing and sustained communications/dialogue.
● May work in mechanical equipment rooms, kitchens, waste management areas, construction sites.
● Travel, local and non-local.

Pay Range:
The expected pay range for this position is $91,000 to $93,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
