DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline (Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Computer Science, MBA, Information Systems, Biology, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or similar area) is preferred.
  • Analytical thinking capabilities in any of the following Human Resources topic areas, e.g. JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion), learning and development, org design and effectiveness, employee labor and relations, talent acquisition, total rewards, and employee listening.
  • Experience using HR technology (Oracle Fusion HCM, SuccessFactors, Workday) is a plus.
  • Experience using SQL, Python, R, Tableau Prep, PowerQuery or similar tools to query and transform data.
  • Strong Tableau developer skills, including parameters, dynamic design, level of detail calculations and row level security.
  • Experience leading or coordinating data governance and stewardship activities as well as documenting processes.
  • Strong presentation/storytelling skills and excellent customer service focus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes and workflow. 
  • Ability to understand and apply the software development lifecycle and project management techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to review business processes and translate into BI reporting and analysis solutions.
  • Experience in data analysis and root cause analysis and developing problem solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability with enterprise application and database driven applications.
  • Experience with relational and dimensional logical data modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of and ability using MS Office; analytical and business intelligence programs such as OBIEE, business objects, Informatica, Tableau, Matlab, SAS, R, SPSS etc..
  • Extensive background and experience with report and analysis design and application of User Interface and User Experience best practices.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sitting.
  • Occasionally stand/walk.
  • Rarely writing by hand; lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.


The expected pay range for this position is $85,000 to $147,000 per annum.
