MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma and four years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Desired Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field of environmental or public policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong writing skills and experience producing policy briefs or similar, newsletters, conference summaries, and meeting and event collateral materials.
- Ability to communicate complex technical or scientific data to non-academic audiences.
- Fully competent in use of technology such as video conferencing and webinars (Zoom), Word, Excel, PPT or other presentation software, Mailchimp, Google drive, graphics programs such as Canva, etc.
- Hill or Congressional Relations experience preferred.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with contact management databases.
- Meeting and conference planning experience including handling high-level VIP speakers and participants.
- In-depth knowledge of Congressional and federal government operations and processes.
- Strong team player and ability to build relationships both internal and external to Stanford.
- Experience with travel and other financial reporting systems.
- Social media savvy a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Frequently sitting.
- Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is hybrid with 3 days on site in the Washington DC Office and 2 days remote.
