The Purchase Requisition Specialist position is a member of Vendor Management Purchase Requisition team at Stanford University IT. This position will include preparing purchase requisitions effectively to best meet the Business needs. We are a team of amazing team players, we collaborate and support each other to excel in order to best support University IT mission and vision.

 

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Be part of the Vendor Management Purchase Requisition Team to provide services to University IT and Stanford University as a whole.
  • Responsible for performing purchase requisition functions for the acquisition of hardware, software and services.

 

CORE DUTIES:

  • Manage a ticket queue daily for service requests (ServiceNow, Jira)
  • Review service requests and process purchase requisitions in the system, and follow through to document the POs in the database.
  • Review and submit invoices electronically to Accounts Payable for payment.
  • Conduct research as necessary to locate sources for supplies.
  • Process simple contract renewals.
  • Perform related procurement activities as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Associates degree or equivalent experience performing duties similar to those listed above or a combination of education and relevant experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience placing routine purchase requisitions using Oracle or similar systems.

Ability to work in a dynamic environment to identify, clarify and resolve routine purchasing problems as they arise.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Take initiative to complete duties proactively with attention to details, and work effectively under varying deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
