To be successful in this role you must bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of communication management experience or 8 years of communications experience as an independent contributor or combination of education and relevant experience.
  •  An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Work background in transportation planning, parking management, and/or transportation demand management is preferred.
  • Work experience in the San Francisco Bay Area or in higher education is preferred.
  • Proficiency with the MS office suite software, Zoom video conferencing, Slack required.
  • Experience with mass email programs preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate their writing experience, provide examples of marketing materials, website development, or other relevant examples.
  • Demonstrated marketing management skills and the ability to work effectively with decision-makers across many levels of an organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of strategic analysis, customer segmentation strategies and business and marketing planning.
  • Highly detail oriented with strong ability to understand constituent needs and lead teams toward a common goal.
  • Strategic thinking and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record with branding, integrated marketing strategy, messaging, and positioning. Excellent project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated experience presenting to senior management. Ability to motivate, develop and train staff.
  • Prior experience in planning and managing budgets.

 

Physical Requirements*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking. Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand.
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is hybrid as defined by the university; must work on site at least two days per week.
  • The position will be based out of Stanford’s Redwood City office but may need to come to the main campus occasionally.
  • Occasional work on evenings and weekends.
