Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Master’s Degree in social work, psychology or forensic psychology, higher education administration or other relevant discipline is strongly preferred.
- JD or equivalent from an accredited law school is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- Graduate training in law, higher education administration or other relevant discipline is required.
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a related field.
- Experience conducting investigations alleging discrimination.
- Knowledge of and experience with issues related to gender based violence.
- Higher education experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal civil rights laws and regulations including Title IX, Clery and VAWA, is required;
- Knowledge of best practices as they relate to institutions of higher education compliance with Title IX, Clery and VAWA;
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices for resolution of sexual harassment/assault matters
- Knowledge of alternate dispute resolution; restorative justice
- Ability to manage multiple, on-going and complex caseload of Title IX related incidents and complaints;
- Ability and experience in investigating discrimination and harassment matters;
- Ability and experience in overseeing and coordinating investigations by others
- Effective project management, organization and analytical skills;
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with an emphasis on education and training for a variety of constituencies;
- Strong written communication skills;
- Ability to guide, advise and support the training and learning process with respect to Title IX and VAWA compliance;
- Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information;
- Ability to build relationships and establish collaborative partnerships across the institution and peer institutions;
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusivity, as well as the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies (staff, students, faculty, parents, administrators) with diplomacy and tact;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain a neutral party;
- Maintenance of professional qualifications through on-going training and professional development;
- Ability to act independently, take initiative and exercise sound judgment.

Work Conditions:
- Will need to be available to respond to urgent matters on evenings and weekends and as a senior leader at the university will be considered on call as necessary to respond to inquiries.
