MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Advanced Degree in Library Science or advanced degree in a relevant academic discipline with demonstrated understanding of academic libraries or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

● Demonstrated experience in managing large display screen arrays and flat screen technology.
● Advanced technical experience in computer equipment to run arrays, other media equipment, and/or digital media control software.
● Demonstrated ability to perform repairs on a wide variety of audio, visual and computer equipment.
● Ability to adapt equipment setup and provide alternative setup or workarounds if necessary.
● Demonstrated experience in project management, including ability to manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines, excellent organizational and time management skills.
● Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, mature judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.
● Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
● May require experience planning, coordinating, and executing archival digitization projects.
● Maintain project documentation, issue status reports, quarterly production statistics and track daily progress.
● Effective problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
● Strong knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery and other production formats. (desired)
● Broad knowledge of all aspects of professional quality productions, including field and studio camera, lighting, sound and editing. (desired)
● Demonstrated experience in scanning rare materials and ingesting digital materials into the pipeline for searching and viewing in library catalogs (desired).
● Experience and familiarity with best practices in the handling of rare materials (desired).
● Ability to present a portfolio that reflects creative work including demonstrated experience in graphics software (desired).

Physical Requirements*:

• Constantly sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.
• Frequently twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasps lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
• Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, writing by hand, kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other).
• Rarely use a telephone, operate hand controls.
• Must be able to push and maneuver a fully-loaded cart weighing up to 650 pounds that requires an initial push force up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• May work in confined spaces and at heights 4-10 feet; be exposed to dust and mold; work extended hours, evenings and weekends.
