To be successful in this role you must bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication and ten years of relevant communication program management experience, or combination and relevant experience
- Interest in and academic background in sustainability field.
- Must have strong writing and graphic experience
- Solid knowledge of the current media/social media landscape, including web and video development
- Must be inquisitive and self-driven
- able to plan and execute projects on a timeline
- have good instincts for design and understand how to analyze and report on data
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in business, communications or environmental science/policy preferred.
- Strong communications skills across channels, with proven track record of building engagement and growing brand reputation,
- Demonstrated experience in engaging and building communities online through web campaigns, engagement portals, and other promotional materials.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering scalable community engagement programs, either among student or employee groups, including establishing strong program partnerships to drive participation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and public relations best practices and their application in the higher education research institution setting.
- Demonstrated skill in the use of web content management systems (Drupal/Wordpress), and intermediate skills in creative programs suites (Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and/or Photoshop)
- Ability to manage a complex and often competing set of priorities in a results-oriented environment.
- Must possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills, with the ability to support multiple projects of various types at difference stages with emphasis on accuracy and meeting milestones and deadlines.
- High degree of discretion and judgment; ability to resolve interdependent deadlines with tact and diplomacy.
- High degree of energy and initiative, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work on weekends and evenings
- Work involves long hours of standing and sustained communications/dialogue
