Stanford University is seeking a Supported Education & Employment Manager to be based within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences’ Center for Youth Mental Health & Well-being (CYMHW) and support the allcove network. The Manager will serve as a member of the central allcove backbone team providing implementation assistance, support and expert consultation to emerging allcove sites across California and the US. The Supported Education & Employment Manager will develop and support a core stream of the allcove model: supported education and employment. The Supported Education & Employment Manager will be responsible for developing and managing an overall allcove strategy and best practice recommendations for supported education & employment. This will be achieved through building state, national and international partnerships with other youth-focused education and employment counseling and development organizations, and working with youth advisors to develop effective strategies focused on allcove’s mild-moderate mental health approach. The Manager will serve as a primary resource for emerging sites in the establishment of their supported education and employment strategies and activities.

 

Duties include: 

•      Establish and disseminate best practices around education & employment support for allcove - a mild-moderate integrated youth mental health care program.

•      Guide and support allcove centers to build capacity for supported education and employment programming, through the development and implementation of training, resources and communication channels.

•      Lead the delivery of education and training initiatives for staff and young people involved in supported education/employment.

•      Ensure allcove supported education & employment initiatives and strategies are consistent with the allcove model and strategic plans.

•      Develop partnerships with organizations that work within the youth education and employment counseling field and have a commitment to incorporate active youth voice, participation and lived experience into programming.

•      Provide strategic advice to the allcove central team and the network of centers relating to peer support and supported education & employment issues, strategy and initiatives.

•      Collaborate with youth advisory groups to co-design and incorporate youth feedback into strengthening supported education & employment programs and strategies.

•      Provide direct implementation assistance to all Supported Employment and Education Specialists across the allcove network.

•      Ensure diversity of lived experiences is appropriately reflected in programming and strategies.

•      Pursue collaborations with education and employment agencies across the US. and forge partnerships to benefit youth accessing allcove.

•      Advocate for and help establish allcove as a complementary school-based mental health service.

•      Represent allcove and the Center for Youth Mental Health & Wellbeing at community events, conferences, and supported education & employment meetings.

•      Serve as a subject matter expert to the allcove center network.

•      Serve as a key member of project teams.

•      May train and supervise other staff, volunteers, student and temporary workers.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with adolescents and young adults in a mental health, health or social service related field.

• Strong community engagement and collaboration skills

• Understanding of contemporary supported education and employment practices and models

• A knowledge of the mental health sector and trauma-informed practices

• Strong leadership skills and experience required to work effectively with senior management, staff and a diverse array of multidisciplinary stakeholders.

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

 Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

·       Strong communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and management.

·       Advanced analysis and problem solving skills

·       Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

·       Advanced customer service skills.

·       Relevant computer systems/technology experience.

·       Understanding of financial transactions.

·       Ability to ensure and apply compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

·       Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences

·        Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member

·       Ability to work in a highly productive environment with time pressures and while managing multiple tasks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

·       Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.

·       Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Occasional travel (local, state, national) to allcove centers, community meetings and conferences is required.

This position is based in Stanford’s Research Park and has the option of a telecommuting/hybrid schedule subject to operational needs.

The expected pay range for this position is $68,000 to $104,000 per annum. 

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
