MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience designing diverse supplier engagement strategies, identifying qualified diverse suppliers and networks, integrating supplier diversity best practices across a corporation or institution and leading diverse supplier business programs.
- Experience in working with diverse supplier networks and managing complex supplier relationships.
- Experience in creating or expanding supplier diversity programs in a decentralized environment.
- Experience in working with stakeholders to encourage, develop and implement supplier diversity targets and goals.
- Familiarity with reporting, tools and technologies that support a supplier diversity program.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to cultivate professional and business partnerships.
- Ability to work independently and produce results with minimum direction.
- Ability to work in ambiguous environments.
- Ability to exercise creative and critical thinking in evaluating situations and developing solutions.
- Ability to influence and work well with senior level management, peer and individual contributors across university and be comfortable communicating across all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate constituencies which could span multiple institutional boundaries.
- Demonstrated excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions using good business judgment and innovative and creative problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to manage financial, organizational and staff resources.
- Synthesize information into succinct, concise, and logical summaries and reports. Strong interpersonal skills, high degree of presentation skills
- Experience in managing change.
- Superior negotiation skills to influence campus partners and leaders on strategic direction, business case value proposition and process improvements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
Additional Qualifications
- Background in Diversity and Inclusion Programs a plus
- Background in setting up, implementing, and managing supplier diversity programs.
Certifications and Licenses:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Frequently stand/walk, sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
- Occasionally use a telephone.
- Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
