To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- PhD degree (or equivalent course work) in either English, History, Languages, Philosophy, Writing or another subject area relevant to that being taught by the instructor. Three years of experience teaching at the high school/college level, or equivalent.
- Facility with teaching traditional and online courses.
- Ability to develop curricula of online courses.
- Develop extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
- Proficiency using computer applications.
Demonstrated commitment to developing student talents and abilities in both academic and co-curricular contexts.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, and use a telephone.
- Frequently grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
- Must be able to conduct real-time voice-video seminars and spend 15-20 hours per week in front of a computer screen.
The expected pay range for this position is $86,000 - $126,000 per year. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
