To be successful in this role you must bring:
• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year sprinkler/irrigation and landscaping experience preferred.
• Valid California Non-commercial Class C Driver’s license.
• Basic horticultural knowledge and understanding of plants, planting and maintenance.
• Basic understanding of centralized computerized irrigation control systems required.
• Ability to understand and follow job-related instructions, either verbally or in writing.
• Basic computer skills and use of smart phone required.
• Horticultural industry related certification preferred.
Compensation:
The expected pay range for this position is $29.61 (Step 1) - $35.75 (Step 10) per hour. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class C Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
• Required to wear appropriate issued uniform.
• Ability to work safely in all types of outside weather conditions.
• May be required to work overtime, evenings and weekends, including holidays.
• Frequently stand/walk, twist/bend/stop/squat, kneel/crawl, grasp forcefully and/or lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 10-20 pounds,
• Occasionally perform seated work, use a telephone, reach/work above shoulders, perform work which require light/fine grasping, and/or lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 10-40 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance.
• Rarely climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), perform desk-based computer tasks, operate hand and/or foot controls, write by hand and/or sort/file paperwork or parts.
• May rarely use a jackhammer or trenching machine.
• Maybe exposed to noise greater than 80db TWA.
• May be exposed to allergens, pollens, dust, fertilizers and pesticides.
• Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.
