DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree with 10+ (Specialist) or 15+ years (Senior Specialist) of experience in gender integration or mainstreaming, with at least some of it serving in a location in the Global South. 
  • Experience working in at least one priority sector: Agricultural Development, Financial Inclusion, and/or Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WSH).  
  • Proven effectiveness/track record working with or liaising with large international development foundations or other funders. 
  • Effective relationship-building and collaboration skills with a diverse range of partners and donors, both in-person and virtually.  
  • Comfortable in a wide range of cultural, geographic and operational situations, demonstrating culturally sensitive behavior with a diverse range of people. 
  • Creative problem solver with rigorous approach and aptitude for managing details in fast-paced environment.  
  • Ability to work in an additional language a plus.  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): 

Advanced degree and five or more years of relevant experience in area of specialization or combination of relevant education, training, and/or experience. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans. Experience developing program partnerships and funding sources.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
  • Advanced oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
  • Ability to oversee and direct staff.
  • Ability to manage budgets and develop financial plans.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:  For teaching jobs, advanced degree or certification may be required for some programs.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weight up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weight > 40 pounds.
  • Ability to use voice to present information/communication with others.
  • On-campus mobility.
