We are recruiting to fill two Software Developer positions.

 

 

The position will be reporting to the Manager of the Oracle Financials System Support group within University IT (UIT).  This position requires a good combination of functional and technical knowledge of the Oracle Financials R12 E-business suite.  A successful candidate will have demonstrated a track record of delivering quality solutions providing with the highest value to the University and solid technical expertise of several of the Oracle based technology.  The candidate should have experience in performing production support activities including, and not limited to, maintaining system configurations, running batch cycles, data cleanup, testing, filing/resolving service requests, and estimating enhancements.

 

The Oracle Financials System Support team is responsible for the support, maintenance, operations and upgrades of various Oracle E-Business Suite applications (GL, Projects and Grants Accounting),  as well as other third party/custom financial applications and applications developed internally at Stanford using Oracle Application Express (APEX) and Oracle Applications Framework (OAF).  The team also supports custom applications integration with other Oracle Financials Systems and Enterprise Data Warehousing.

 
CORE DUTIES:
  • Assess user needs and requirements.
  • Design and develop applications that may involve sophisticated data manipulation.
  • Maintain and update existing programs.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
  • Create programs to meet reporting and analysis needs.
  • Design and implement user and operations training programs.
  • Document changes in software for end users.
  • Follow team software development methodology.
  • Serve as technical resource with respect to applications.
  • Propose, conceptualize, design, implement, and develop solutions for difficult and complex applications independently.
  • Perform testing, debugging, change control, and documentation for development tasks
  • Perform support, maintenance, operation, and upgrades of applications.
  • Review the physical design of existing systems for optimizing performance.
  • Partner with business management to define the appropriate technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with peer to coordinate enterprise-wide integration requirements.
  • Coordinate work efforts for system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Coordinate production support, and provide application performance metrics to business partners and IT management.

Education & Experience:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS or related field and three years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.

 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Current knowledge of latest software and design standards.
  • Ability to define and solve logical problems for technical applications.
  • Knowledge of and ability to select, adapt, and effectively use a variety of programming methods.
  • Ability to recognize and recommend needed changes in user and/or operations procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of software engineering principles.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one programming language.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and programming tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications.
  • Understanding of data design, architecture, relational databases, and data modeling.
  • Understanding of all aspects of software development life cycle and quality control practices.
  • Ability to define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical clients.
  • Ability to select, adapt, and effectively use a variety of programming methods.
  • Ability to recognize and recommend needed changes in user and/or operations procedures.
 

Relevant Work Experience:

 
  • Experience with Java and any other of the following is a must (SQL, HTML programming, JavaScript) for a minimum of 2 years
  • Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite or Fusion Cloud Application, such as HR, Inventory, OE, GL, AP, AR or PO on is a plus.
  • Experience with Structure programming related to SQL is a plus (like Oracle PL/SQL)
 
 
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, use a telephone.
  • Rarely writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
