MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise in designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications.

  • Proficiency with application design and data modeling.

  • Ability to define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications.

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical clients.

  • Ability to lead activities on structured team development projects.

  • Ability to select, adapt, and effectively use a variety of programming methods.

  • Knowledge of application domain.

 

NatCap specific – preferred knowledge, skills & abilities that are not already listed as part of Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in open source software development or software for scientific applications.

  • Experience scripting or programming in GIS, especially with GDAL.

  • Experience with distributed computing, container technologies or cloud development.

  • Experience in user interface design and implementation with Qt5 or a modern web-based UI framework such as React or Angular.

  • Experience building and distributing desktop software for multiple operating systems.

 

Certifications and Licenses:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.

  • Occasionally stand/walk, writing by hand.

  • Rarely use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds

Our main office is located on the beautiful main Stanford campus, though some days we meet at local coffee shops and libraries in the area.  We offer a relaxed and flexible work environment.
