DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Singularity containers for HPC deployment.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL; familiarity with web server deployment and Docker Compose.
- Experience with tools for somatic or germline variant discovery, structural variant analysis, or copy number variation.
- Experience with single-cell or functional omics data types and analysis workflows.
- Experience with spatial omics or imaging data formats and analysis.
- Familiarity with R.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline, with relevant professional or research experience.
- Extensive experience with Python software development and testing practices.
- Experience with GitHub and/or GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker for containerization and application deployment.
- Experience working in a Linux/HPC environment with Slurm or equivalent job scheduling.
- Familiarity with standard genomics data types (e.g., FASTQ, BAM, VCF) and analysis workflows.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver reliable software with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
- Occasionally stand/walk, writing by hand.
- Rarely use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

The expected pay range for this position is $113,148 to $137,516 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
