Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Master’s degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience and/or skill in leading outreach efforts in global risk and mitigation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of geopolitical issues, international relations, overseas travel risk assessment and mitigation, and global emergency response.
- Experience in designing knowledge-building events using innovative, impactful teaching-learning methods.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in community engagement.
- Demonstrated creativity, problem solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in global travel risk assessment and mitigation.
- Demonstrated skill building relationships and understanding the needs of diverse populations.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring global events, emerging risks and health, safety and security developments worldwide.
- Demonstrated emergency management skills that include ability to think on one’s feet, strong analytical, evaluative and prioritization skills during an emergency.
- Demonstrated ability to be calm, clear-headed and decisive when handling critical incidents.
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.
- Ability to accomplish goals working through formal and informal channels, with diplomacy and tactfulness.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and meet budget goals.
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong relevant subject matter knowledge.
- Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring supervision.
- Ability and willingness to travel, as necessary.
- Familiarity with the Stanford or other academic environment and culture is preferred.
