The expected pay range for this position is $127,000 to $156,000 per annum.
Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years since their applicable education, field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal equity; among other factors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the execution, design, and implementation of quantitative and qualitative health services research studies related to chronic disease risk factor reduction across the life course, spanning social, behavioral, community, and health systems factors. This includes observational and interventional research.
- Conduct statistical analyses of complex data sets using appropriate methodologies and software.
- Oversee data analyses led by trainees and data analysts
- Write manuscripts for peer reviewed publication.
- Assist in the guidance of postdoctoral scholars, graduate, professional, and undergraduate students and other trainees in the research team.
- Communicate research findings to a diverse set of stakeholders spanning patients, clinicians, community organizations, and policy makers.
- Contribute to grant writing and progress reports to support ongoing and future research initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate in epidemiology, public health, health policy, health economics, or alternative appropriate discipline.
- Candidates for the position will ordinarily have completed a minimum of five years at the Research Scientist, or Scholar rank (or will have equivalent experience)
- Comprehensive understanding of scientific principles
- Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous research with a highly productive peer-reviewed publication record, including training in observational methods, as well as randomized and non-randomized (quasi-experimental) intervention methods
- Proficiency in statistical software such as Python, R, SAS, and/ or STATA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing research papers and effectively communicate information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with grant writing
- Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects, working under deadlines
- Experience building relationships with individuals from varying communities and cultures
