MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
Relevant experience may include: Advanced research assistance for a professor of economics, finance, or statistics; analyst position in economic or financial consulting; analyst position in a government agency such as a central bank, tax authority or treasury / finance department with increasing responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring supervision.
- Relevant subject matter knowledge.
- Substantial experience with MS Office and analytical programs, e.g. R Programming, STATA, and/or SAS.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
Desired/Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Effective communication skills, and comfort working with prominent individuals.
- An understanding of domestic and international economic policy - including but not limited to taxation, government budgeting - and the effects of these on economic activity, is strongly desired.
- Experience analyzing datasets about taxation or government budgeting.
- Graduate level coursework or graduate level research experience in public economics, labor economics, and financial economics.
Certifications and Licenses:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Sitting in place at computer for long periods of time with extensive keyboarding/dexterity.
- Occasionally use a telephone.
- Rarely writing by hand.
