MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education & Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or combination of education and relevant experience. 

 

Experience managing a budget and developing financial plans. Experience developing program partnerships. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, planning and change management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to influence people, solve problems, trouble shoot, think creatively and resolve conflicts.
  • Advanced financial expertise in budget planning, and financial forecasting.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills Strong knowledge of industry standards and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Subject matter expertise for area(s) of responsibility.

 

Desired/Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent writing, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to accomplish goals working through formal and informal channels, with diplomacy and tactfulness.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with high profile stakeholders, including fellows and faculty, staff, policy officials, and others.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and partnership environment.
  • Demonstrated solid planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong relevant subject matter knowledge.
  • Ability to direct the work of others, for tasks requiring supervision.
  • Strong interest and/or experience in current affairs, academia, and politics. 
  • Experience with and basic knowledge of skills in the production and management of podcasts, social media, websites, and publishing platforms.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently sitting.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds;
  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Occasional work on evenings and weekends.

 

The expected pay range for this position is $179,000 to $233,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
