Minimum requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and ten years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience with TCP/IP fundamentals and routing protocols (e.g., EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS).
- Experience in network design and implementation.
- Ability to Implement, configure and maintain firewalls (Palo Alto Networks experience preferred).
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical users.
- Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to influence, persuade, negotiate, and mentor.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with multiple network protocols and technologies.
- Fine-tuned troubleshooting experience and skills.
- Experience programming in some subset of Python, C++, Java, or Perl is a plus
Qualifications:
10 years of experience in the design, implementation and management of data networks preferably in an academic environment. Familiarity with managing network routers, firewalls and load balancers. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and fix software, hardware, and networking issues. Proven ability to work calmly and professionally with attention to detail. Proven ability to adapt to and work well within a team environment. Demonstrated excellence in time management, planning and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Occasionally stand/walk, kneel/crawl, and use a telephone.
- Rarely climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to or>40 pounds.
- Must be able to occasionally crawl into tight spaces.
