DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in public health or related field Previous qualitative research experience Previous experience with scientific writing

Interest in working in a position for at least two (2) years

Interest in maintaining community partnerships that lead to effective, collaborative research

Interest in childhood cancer survivorship, adolescent/young adult populations, and public health/advocacy

Ability to work with diverse populations, including those with non-English language preference or low literacy levels

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (DESIRED): Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, health policy, social science, or related field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (DESIRED):

ï      Strong interpersonal skills.

ï      Excellent oral and written communication skills

ï      Exceptional organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once

ï      Fluent in Spanish and English

ï      Proficiency with Microsoft Office

ï      Ability to drive to off-site community partner location (Watsonville, CA) occasionally for research activities

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in an applicable social science related field and two years applicable experience, or combination of education and experience in an applicable social science.

ï      General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.

ï      Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment.

ï      Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

ï      Ability to work with human study participants.

ï      Developing supervisory skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

ï      Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

ï      Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, writing by hand, and sort/file paperwork or parts.

ï      Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, rarely reach/work above shoulders, operate foot and/or hand controls.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
