QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

• Ph.D. in engineering, biology, computer science, or a related scientific field
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to lead and manage projects with a high degree of independence

DESIRED:

• Research experience related to mobile health, biomechanics, data science, and/or rehabilitation
• Prior experience in technical and nontechnical writing
• Capacity to write and synthesize materials and communicate information in a manner easily understood
• Familiarity with government funding agencies and academic research funding sources
• Familiarity with human subjects experiments and policies

Department of Bioengineering

What is the Mobilize Center?

The Mobilize Center is a Biomedical Technology Resource Center (BTRC) funded through the National Institutes of Health. It was created with the vision of enabling the research community to use mobile technology, such as 2-D video and wearable sensors, and other large-scale datasets to quantify movement biomechanics, extract insights about conditions that reduce mobility, and advance precision rehabilitation. The Center is developing new software tools, data-sharing resources, and training programs to achieve this vision. The Center includes faculty, research staff, operations staff, postdoctoral fellows, and students from several departments.

What is the Restore Center?

The Restore Center is one of six centers that form the Medical Rehabilitation Research Resource Network, organized under the National Institutes of Health’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). Its mission is to accelerate the use of mobile technology, such as from smartwatches and smartphone video, for real-world assessments of movement and factors affecting movement. As a national resource, the Restore Center provides pilot project funding, workshops, and other training and infrastructure to advance this research. The Center includes faculty, research staff, operations staff, postdoctoral fellows, and students from several departments.
