MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of State of California Workers' Compensation regulations and processes.
- Proficiency with computers and using Microsoft Office Suite, internet, and email programs.
- Written English skills to document examination observations, adverse reactions, and documentation required by regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate medical principles to individuals of all age groups and cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information (verbal and written) with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to maintain individual study participant and overall study records.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with Stanford’s colleagues and clients, and with external organizations.
- Demonstrated commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety, shown through communication of safety concerns, and use and promotion of safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned.
Certifications and Licenses:
R.N. Certified as Nurse by California Board of Registered Nursing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequent, regular and recurring physical exertion, including standing, walking, twist/bend/stoop/squat/stretching.
- Occasionally sitting, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissues; there is risk of exposure to contagious diseases, infections, and accidental needle sticks. May be required to enter areas where other individuals work with human blood; potential may exist for unanticipated exposure to blood borne pathogens by splash or spill.
