DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● Advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MS, PhD, or equivalent) in a scientific, health, or policy-related field strongly preferred. Background in biomedical sciences, translational research, or health systems is highly desirable.
● Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in academic program or research administration within a university, healthcare, or nonprofit research setting. Experience working in a medical school or clinical research environment is a plus.
● Demonstrated success in developing and managing complex, multi-stakeholder research or training initiatives from concept to execution. Adept at building relationships across disciplines and sectors, including experience liaising with faculty, donors, industry partners, advocacy organizations, and external research consortia.
● Strong knowledge of academic funding mechanisms and internal/external grant administration, including NIH, foundation, and philanthropic grants, grant administration, IRB, and financial forecasting. Proven experience supporting the development and submission of successful research proposals, including familiarity with sponsor guidelines, compliance processes, and institutional routing.
● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience preparing scientific reports, donor briefings, and educational materials for diverse audiences including faculty, funders, and the public.
● Proven ability to lead scientific meetings, symposia, and educational events, including agenda design, speaker coordination, and impact assessment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and three or more years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
· Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
· Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
· Ability to oversee and direct staff.
· Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
· For teaching jobs, advanced degree or certification may be required for some programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
