To be successful in this role, you will bring:
● Associates degree and one year of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
● Ability to live in the residence in Brooklyn, NY
● Ability to attend a first-aid course as arranged by the program
● Ability to accommodate flexible hours during student presence at the residence
● Ability to complete an on-line Stanford Resident Assistant course in the Spring quarter prior to active assignment at the residence
● Ability to attend a 2-week Resident Assistant course on the Stanford University campus in CA
● Strong English written and oral communication skills
● Ability to exercise patience and flexibility when dealing with a wide and diverse group of students, faculty, staff and outside constituents
● Ability to serve as a role model for responsible behavior and personal integrity
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
● Strong customer service skills and basic office administration skills.
● Ability to learn compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
● Physical Requirements: Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks. Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

In addition, preferred requirements include:
● Prior participation in the Stanford in New York program
● Minimum of one-year experience with resident assistant support, student and academic services support is desirable
● Experience working and/or living in New York City
Working Conditions:
- Housing is provided with this position; residing in the student residence is a condition of employment.
- This position is designated as an on-site role requiring presence in assigned work locations Monday through Friday.
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed and as assigned in on-call rotation.

For undergraduates, VPUE is the nexus for programs and initiatives that help students define and achieve their intellectual ambitions at Stanford. The expected pay range for this position is $16.50 to $22.40 per hour. Housing is provided with the position. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
