To be successful in this role, you will bring:
● Associates degree and one year of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
● Ability to live in the residence in Brooklyn, NY
● Ability to attend a first-aid course as arranged by the program
● Ability to accommodate flexible hours during student presence at the residence
● Ability to complete an on-line Stanford Resident Assistant course in the Spring quarter prior to active assignment at the residence
● Ability to attend a 2-week Resident Assistant course on the Stanford University campus in CA
● Strong English written and oral communication skills
● Ability to exercise patience and flexibility when dealing with a wide and diverse group of students, faculty, staff and outside constituents
● Ability to serve as a role model for responsible behavior and personal integrity
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
● Strong customer service skills and basic office administration skills.
● Ability to learn compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
● Physical Requirements: Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks. Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

About the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE) and Stanford in New York
For undergraduates, VPUE is the nexus for programs and initiatives that help students define and achieve their intellectual ambitions at Stanford. These include investigative introductory courses taught by esteemed faculty, targeted classes in writing and rhetoric, undergraduate research support, academic advising and mentoring, overseas and off-campus study programs, and undergraduate scholarships and fellowships. For faculty, VPUE serves as a principal conduit for furthering interaction with undergraduates and discovering ways in which working with students can enrich one’s research agenda. The Stanford in New York program offers students an intensive quarter of study and reflective practice in one of the premier artistic, cultural, financial, and media capitals. The program was launched in the fall quarter of 2015-2016 with program offices located in Manhattan.

The expected pay range for this position is $16.50 to $22.40 per hour. Housing is provided with the position. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
