The Hoover Institution at Stanford University is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Product Marketing Manager to join the Hoover Marketing team.

The Hoover Institution on War, Revolution, and Peace is a public policy research center devoted to the advanced study of economics, politics, history, and political economy—both domestic and foreign—as well as international affairs. 

 

Founded in 1919 by Herbert Hoover before he became the thirty-first president of the United States, the Institution began as a repository of historical material gathered at the end of World War I.  The library and archives have grown to be among the largest private repositories of documents on twentieth-century political and economic history.  Over time the Institution expanded its mission from collecting archival material to conducting advanced research on contemporary history and economics and applying this scholarship to current public policy challenges.

 

With its eminent scholars and world-renowned library and archives, the Hoover Institution seeks to improve the human condition by advancing ideas that promote economic opportunity and prosperity while securing and safeguarding peace for America and all humanity.

 

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the senior product manager, the product marketing manager will assist with the development, delivery, sales and marketing of programs or products created by the organization. Responsible for delivering the product/program within scope, on time, and within budget.

 

CORE DUTIES*:

  • Execute product/program plan definition, and detailed rollout schedule, including collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with web team to build webpages and newsletters for products, and upload to relevant channels and social platforms, while maintaining brand quality.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to develop and execute a marketing plan, assessing, and revising as necessary to meet goals.
  • Implement conversion strategy to meet product/program goals.
  • Deliver an experience that leads to high customer satisfaction and advocacy for the program.
  • Conduct analysis and make recommendations regarding the direction of the program or product.
  • Actively participates in efforts to improve products and processes across the department.
  • Coordinate with vendors and consultants on specific programs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education & Experience:

 

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with managing products/programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of various marketing elements (e.g. pricing, audience, channels, communication).
  • Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the target audience lifecycle and ability to convert leads into new business.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred/Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·       Demonstrated skills using social media to advance organizational communications.  

  • Knowledge of  content management system software such as Drupal and WordPress preferred.
  • Knowledge of graphical and audio-visual editing software a plus.

Certifications and Licenses:

·       None

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.
  • Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand.
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Occasional work on evenings and weekends.

The expected pay range for this position is $91,000 - $118,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
