DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Associate degree or certificate of completion in a related engineering discipline or 3 years of related equivalent relevant work experience or combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- Ability to perform basic mechanical designs and modeling.
- Must have basic understanding of manufacturing capabilities and be able to demonstrate the ability to design for manufacturability.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of tolerances, clearances, and fit of parts.
- Fair understanding of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to read and translate drawings and sketches from established design concepts.
- Ability to perform detailed work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with supervision, follow department standards and processes.
- Ability to work with others effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of job- required software applications and tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or similar software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Constantly perform desk based computer tasks.
- Frequently stand/walk, sit, and use a telephone.
- Occasionally grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, sort/file paperwork, and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to ten pounds.
- Visual acuity required.

The expected pay range for this position is $89,000 to $97,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
