MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Journey level knowledge equivalent to four years completion in an apprentice program or a combination of equivalent education and work experience. Four years of actual work in the locksmith trade.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skilled in the use of the tools, equipment and methods of locksmith trade and carpentry skills required to install doors needed for access.
Knowledgeable in keying systems and building and document security systems.
Demonstrated strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid California Non-commercial Class C Driver's license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class C license.
Constantly stand/walk
Frequently kneel/crawl, climb, light/fine and forcefully grasping of tools, use telephone and operate foot and/or hand controls
Occasionally work seated, twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, write by hand, and scrub/sweep
Rarely perform desk-based computer tasks, sort/file paperwork or parts and operate a manual pipette
Lift/carry/push/pull objects that frequently weight up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
Visual acuity required to work with color coded wiring
Rarely use a lift to access devices
WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be required to work overtime, evenings and weekends, including holidays, sometimes in inclement weather conditions.
Frequently work at heights up to 10 feet; rarely greater than 10 feet.
Occasionally exposed to high voltage electricity.
Required to wear appropriate uniform.
Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
WORK STANDARDS:
When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.

The expected pay for this position is $49.03 (Step 1) per hour. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
