The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery has a long tradition of major contributions in medical research and education, as well as a strong commitment to quality clinical care delivery. The Department is dedicated to expanding the clinical and translational research efforts related to the fields of cardiology, cardiac surgery, critical care, anesthesia, imaging, thoracic surgery, thoracic oncology, and translational science. With an impressive number of sponsored research studies being conducted by our group at any given time, this position offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and professional team member. We are seeking a full-time, Marketing Specialist 3 that oversees the implementation of marketing outreach activities for the organization, enabling programs, services, events and/or products to meet organizational objectives. 

Duties include*:

  • Must have a vehicle to drive to referring cardiologist office locations outside of the Bay Area. 
  • Communicate marketing plans across the organization and/or university to educate and influence stakeholders.
  • Build partnerships with other school, department, product, service, program, and event and/or channel managers.
  • May oversee event management to support marketing objectives.
  • Manage key vendor and consultant relationships.

* - Other duties may also be assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred multilingual speaker to conduct in-person community outreach engagement in the San Francisco greater Bay Area. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

  • Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders.
  • Extensive knowledge of strategic analysis, customer segmentation strategies and business and marketing planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in integrated marketing strategy and execution across channels including digital; and print.
  • Demonstrated application of market research and data analysis.
  • Excellent project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to senior management.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

  • CA Driver’s License-Valid and in State Required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.
  • Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand. 
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Occasional work on evenings and weekends.
  • Frequent and regular local travel required.

The expected pay range for this position is $149,660 to $175,558 per annum.

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
