Founded in 1919 by Herbert Hoover before he became the thirty-first president of the United States, the Institution began as a repository of historical material gathered at the end of World War I.  The library and archives have grown to be among the largest private repositories of documents on twentieth-century political and economic history.  Over time the Institution expanded its mission from collecting archival material to conducting advanced research on contemporary history and economics and applying this scholarship to current public policy challenges.

JOB PURPOSE:

Under general direction, process a wide variety of analytical data and fulfill routine, single data sources’ information requests.

 

CORE DUTIES*: 

  • Identify and select usable data from subtle and complex data patterns. Assess and produce relevant, standard, or custom information (reports, charts, graphs, and tables) from structured data sources by querying data repositories and generating the associated information.
     
  • Utilize fundamental processes and methods to validate data to ensure high quality product. Distribute reports to applicable agencies, researchers, management, and other internal end-users and provide interpretation of data when needed.
     
  • Develop and produce dashboards, key performance indicators, and other recognized metrics used to monitor and report organizational performance. Collect and analyze metric data.
     
  • Collect, manage, and clean datasets using an extraction and reporting programming language to ensure data integrity.
     
  • Research and reconcile data discrepancies occurring among various information systems and reports.
     
  • Collaborate with data managers to define and implement data standards and common data elements for data collection.
     
  • Assist with identifying new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.
     
  • May test prototype software and participate in the approval and release process for new software.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a marketing, communications, and/or quantitative discipline such as finance or statistics.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge and demonstrated experience using and applying analytical software, database management system software, database reporting software, database user interface and query software, and data mining software.
     
  • Ability to collect data using a variety of methods, such as data mining and hardcopy or electronic documentation study, to improve or expand databases.
     
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
     
  • Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, flexible, and rigorous attention to detail.
     
  • Ability to use logic to calculate data; efficiently construct a database or scrutinize the form of a question.
     
  • Ability to work with data of varying levels of quality and validity.
     
  • Demonstrated ability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements.
     
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external customers.

 

Preferred/Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ensure proper tagging and tracking via HubSpot, GA4, and Google Tag Manager
     
  • Maintain marketing data integrity across CRM, automation, and analytics systems
     
  • Marketing Strategy & Execution: Understanding of campaign lifecycles, storytelling, and content-driven engagement
     
  • HubSpot Mastery: Experience with custom reporting, workflows, and lead scoring
     
  • GA4 Proficiency: Ability to analyze user behavior, content performance, and conversion paths
     
  • Data Storytelling: Skilled at crafting insights into persuasive, executive-ready narratives
     
  • Marketing Data Science: Experience using statistical tools to identify audience patterns and trends

     
  • Previous experience in a marketing team or department is strongly preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
     
  • Frequently sitting.
     
  • Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
     
  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

The expected pay range for this position is $80,148 to $99,773 per annum.

Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire.
