Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:


-This position is considered moderately to highly physical and requires a lot of standing, bending, lifting and walking.

-Able to stoop, kneel, carry, push and pull, ascend/descend stairs, climb on ladders, climb on roofs, and crawl in confined spaces on a regular basis.

-The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

-Works in all types of weather inside and outside. 
-Respond to emergency calls at night or on weekends. 

-Wears respirator and other protective safety equipment and clothing as needed


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

-Knowledge and ability to use and work with various and tools materials found in the work place required to complete the task.

-Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
-Ability to read and follow blueprints.
-Appropriately follows oral and written directions.

-Ability to troubleshoot and correct plumbing systems and gas supply lines.

-Ability to install and maintain plumbing equipment, fixtures and appliances.

-Ability to install and maintain sanitary waste line drains, and storm drains systems.

-Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydronic heating/plumbing systems.

-Ability to troubleshoot and repair all HVAC equipment.
-Skilled in electrical systems and equipment.
-Knowledge in basic steam fitting repair and maintenance.

-Experience working with brass, steel, cast iron, copper, glass and plastic piping.

-Knowledge of building codes in the trade.  May be called upon on to help in other trades.


-Capable of learning and applying safe work practices and procedures, including but not limited to: Class III asbestos work, proper use and care of respirators, hazardous waste management and handling, lockout tag out procedures, Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Confined Space procedures, CPR, and chemical safe practices.


Qualifications: 

-High School Diploma Required

-Journey level knowledge and skills in: Plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems.

-Available to work variable shifts at nights or weekends.

-Ability to respond to emergency calls at night or on weekends

-Valid California driver’s license

-3 years work experience in related field
