DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-years’ experience providing community health educations, LGBTQ+ outreach, and/or community health interventions.
  • Master’s degree in public health, community health education, community development or the equivalent.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with and establish rapport with diverse constituents, and diverse populations experiencing health disparities and inequities.
  • Sensitivity to cultural, racial, ethnic, gender, class, and ability concerns.
  • Excellent verbal skills on the phone and in-person including interactive, engaging presentation skills.
  • Good written skills. 
  • Experience working remotely/online. 
  • Experience with online and in-person community engagement. 
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team as well as under general direction.
  • Ability to quickly process and react to new information, concepts and practices, and take solution-oriented approach to complex issues. 
  • Excellent time-management and ability to follow-through on projects and events with independence. 
  • Maintains a healthy sense of humor.
  • An advocate with clear commitment to the project’s priorities with knowledge of related LGBTQ+ community and issues.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Demonstrated oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization. 
  • Ability to oversee and provide basic direction to staff.

 

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

For teaching jobs, advanced degree or certification may be required for some programs.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds. 
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.
  • Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May work extended hours, evenings or weekends.
  • May travel locally and/or nationally.
