DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in public health, public policy, education or relevant graduate degrees
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese language
  • Minimum 3 years participating in research activities, including participant recruitment, enrollment and retention
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in community organizing, coalition building, partnership facilitation, or service provision
  • Minimum 3 years of prior work experience with LGBT stakeholders
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. 
  • Advanced degree may be required for some programs. 
  • Program administration and or research experience may be required.
Relevant additional (required) experience includes:
  • Experience in on-line engagement strategies and tactics.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
  • Demonstrated oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization. 
  • Ability to oversee and provide basic direction to staff
Specific Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:
  • Proven ability to independently manage a community partnership
  • Experience working with LGBT communities, particularly gender identity and racial minority communities
  • Demonstrated excellent writing skills for preparing and submitting grants, drafting policies, developing program plans, and submitting progress reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with funders, diverse constituents, and diverse populations experiencing health disparities and inequities
  • Demonstrated experience with research study subject recruitment and retention
  • Knowledge of on-line engagement strategies and tactics
  • Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic concerns
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team as well as under general direction
  • Ability to quickly process and react to new information, concepts and practices, and take solution-oriented approach to complex issues 
  • An advocate with clear commitment to the project’s priorities with knowledge of related LGBT community and issues.
  • An experienced leader who understands the subtleties of engaging and motivating community stakeholders
  • A direct communicator who shares information readily and listens well
  • Maintains a healthy sense of humor
  • Working knowledge of delivering community training, and technical assistance
  • Working knowledge of developing and delivering presentations
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:
  • Experience with large-scale and complex programs with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated research and evaluation skills
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
  • For teaching jobs, advanced degree or certification may be required for some programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds. 
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.
  • Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.
  • On-campus mobility.
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks

WORKING CONDITIONS:
