MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Associate degree and two years related, demonstrated facilities administration experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to analyze and track complex office and laboratory space, equipment and financial data.
- Experience in ordering, PO tracking, receiving, and inventory control.
- High interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good analytical/critical thinking
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects with competing priorities
- Project planning skills with short- and long-term end dates.
- Ability to work under deadlines according to general guidelines.
- Experience in working with internal and external vendors and services contractors.
- Basic knowledge of safe handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous waste. Understanding of emergency preparedness plans and their implementation.
- Comprehensive understanding of scientific principles.
- Working knowledge of applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSc/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field
- Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.
- Laboratory training in molecular biology, cell biology, chemistry or any related field will be a plus.
- Valid California Non-commercial Driver's License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally stand/walk, sit, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp forcefully.
- Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), reach/work above shoulders, use a telephone, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, operate foot and/or hand controls, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May be exposed to high voltage electricity, radiation or electromagnetic fields, lasers, noise > 80dB TWA, Allergens/Biohazards/Chemicals /Asbestos, confined spaces, working at heights ?10 feet, temperature extremes, heavy metals, unusual work hours or routine overtime and/or inclement weather.
- May require travel.
