MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and three
years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and
relevant experience. 5-7 years of experience with innovation
processes/methodologies within large organizations preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:
- Ability to
develop program partnerships and funding sources.
- Excellent oral,
written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of
specialization.
- Ability to
oversee and direct staff.
- Basic knowledge
of managing budgets and developing financial plans.
Additional
preferred Experience and Skills:
- Innovation
professional - Champions an innovation mind-set and has experience with a
variety of approaches to design, develop, prototype, and test innovative
products, services, and experiences for a variety of clients and
stakeholders. Candidates
should be prepared to share two concrete case studies of driving
innovation in the social sector.
- Experience working in government,
university or non-profit environments, with a preferred focus on domestic
policy issues. Comfortable with deftly navigating bureaucratic hurdles,
with demonstrated record of using innovation and creativity to produce
tangible wins.
- Process & organization - Designs
processes and systems with an eye for future replication and scale.
- Research mindset - Appreciates the
value of rigorous research to drive impact and inform policies; however,
extensive background in a research setting is not required.
- Excellent facilitator - Comfortable
in front of a room, leading everything from team meetings to workshops.
Great listener, asks the right questions, brings people together towards
synthesis.
- Broad network -
Brings a personal network to the work, including government leaders and
non-profit/academic groups working on social innovation. Able to catalyze
that network towards the mission of the Social X-Change.

Licenses:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently
stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based
computer tasks.
- Occasionally use
a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up
to 40 pounds.
- Rarely sort/file
paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.
- Ability to use
voice to present information/communicate with others.
