What You’ll Bring:
We are seeking someone who is passionate, creative, highly collaborative, comfortable with iteration and ambiguity, and skilled in leading a diverse team, while also keeping the work based in current research and aligned with the overall goals of the project. In addition, the Hollyhock Project Director will have strong skills in project management, designing and creating culturally-responsive professional learning experiences, leading program design and evaluation, and nuanced, professional communication with multiple stakeholders.
Education & Experience: Graduate degree and three years of relevant work experience or combination of education and relevant experience required.
Doctorate in education preferred. Master's degree and at least three years of high school teaching experience required, ideally with experience in low-income schools. Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, English, history, or a science discipline greatly preferred. Experience designing and leading professional learning for teachers and working as a mentor teacher or instructional coach required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
- Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization
- Ability to oversee and direct staff.
- Basic knowledge of managing budgets.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong project management skills. Ability to identify and execute the necessary steps of a project; set deadlines, hold self and others accountable to outcomes and deadlines.
- Experience with online teaching and social media platforms (especially Slack, Twitter, and Facebook) and building and maintaining online communities of practice
- Ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including funding partners, fellows, school and district leaders, and colleagues
