To be successful in this position, you will bring:
  • Both a JD and Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited school of library and/or information studies; 
  • Advanced knowledge of legal research sources and sophisticated skills with using research materials in all formats; 
  • Demonstrated ability teaching within a formal classroom setting, litigating in court, or presenting in another learning environment;
  • Five years of experience in academic law libraries and capacity to work at a high level of responsibility or a combination of education and relevant experience. Successful supervisory experience is strongly preferred; legal practice and/or teaching experience are also strongly preferred. 
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant aspects of library operations including understanding of contemporary library practices, trends, and emerging technologies;
  • A very strong service ethic, and the ability to blend harmoniously with colleagues and the law school and university communities;
  • An aptitude for and interest in project planning and management, as well as excellent organizational, time-management, and analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both collaboratively and independently, within a highly collegial environment;
  • A commitment to continuous service improvement and innovation; 
  • An agile and curious mind, along with a healthy sense of humor and a spirit of idealism about our chosen profession.
