MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong HR Generalist background, including workforce planning, recruitment, training/development, employee relations, benefits, compensation, employment law and employee relations
- Demonstrated experience as a consultant and advisor to senior management in all human resources areas, including: employee relations, employment and labor law, compensation, benefits, recruiting, employment offer letters, training, development, performance coaching and management, and organizational development.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, creative problem solving, judgment, negotiating, influencing, and strategic decision making skills.
- Experience with managing benefits, programs, hiring, training, and onboarding programs, and managing multiple vendors in an outsourced environment.
- Knowledge of human resources and benefit administration systems.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use quantitative methods to evaluate effectiveness of benefit programs and services.
- Working knowledge of general health, life, disability insurance and pension/retirement plan benefits and operations required.
- Knowledge of benefit administration, including eligibility, enrollment, payroll deduction processing, insurance billing, and employee contribution strategy.
- Strong analytic, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to quickly interpret and work with new information and concepts
- Ability to transition between strategic big-picture and details of day-to-day operations.
- Ability to effectively translate complex benefits plan documentation, employment laws and regulations, and tax treatment of specific benefits into simple easy to understand verbal and written communications for hiring managers and employees.
- Intermediate to expert level computer skills such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Certifications and Licenses:
- HR or Benefits certifications such as through SHRM or International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a start-up environment
- Experience working in global benefits or HR
- Familiarity with employment and benefits compliance requirements for employers outside the US strongly preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently stand/walk, sitting, use a computer, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
- Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork.
- Rarely kneel/crawl.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Occasional work on evenings and weekends.
