Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Expertise with ArcGIS and AutoCAD programs, experience with reading and mapping legal descriptions, familiarity with local geography and information sources, demonstrated cartographic skills.
- Knowledge of the Stanford campus and land holdings highly desirable.
- Attentive to detail and outstanding quantitative skill set.
- Experience with GPS measuring tools.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Expert knowledge of and ability to use one or more geospatial software programs such as CAD, GIS, databases, and geospatial data processing engines.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans and drawings and advise architects, engineers, and construction personnel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users with a wide range of language skills and from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to complete moderately advanced mathematical or statistical calculations.
- Ability to plan effectively and to manage/supervise projects and work queues if leading others.
- Proficiency in industry standards and/or regulatory requirements.
Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid California Non-commercial Class C Driver’s License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class C Driver’s License
- Constantly stand/walk utilizing an aerobic capacity for walking 5 miles a day
- Frequently twist/bend/stoop/squat.
- Occasionally sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation and carry objects that weigh 21-40 pounds.
- Occasionally lift/carry/push/pull
- Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, grasp forcefully.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Occasionally work evenings and weekends.
- May perform work outside in variable weather conditions.
- May be exposed to high voltage electricity, radiation or electromagnetic fields, noise >80db, allergens/ biohazards/ chemicals/ asbestos.
- May be required to work in confined spaces and at heights greater than 10 feet.
