Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive experience and a solid understanding of GIS applications and graphic image editing software.
Expertise in scripting languages and relational databases applicable to GIS, spatial database, and web mapping application
Understanding of Web design and visual communication in the context of interactive web maps
Demonstrated experience with industry standard computer programming languages. Proficient at MSWord, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.
Understanding of topologic types and relationships and database design elements.
Able to coordinate and execute complex design projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience reading and interpreting maps, engineering and architectural drawings.
Possess cartographic aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical and statistical calculations.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines.
Able to program and use engineering blueprint copier, plotters, scanners and printers where applicable.
Able to provide technical leadership and direct the work of others.
Solid comprehension of coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography and map scales.
